WELCOME TO: Substance Abuse Council of Vigo County
The Substance Abuse Council of Vigo County is dedicated to alcohol related substance abuse prevention efforts and positive youth and family development throughout the community. We will do this through collaboration with local organizations and Government agencies that focus on substance abuse prevention. These collaborations will be done so that we may provide Vigo County residents a “healthy, safe and drug-free environment”.
Mental Health America of Vigo County supports individuals and families in their efforts to improve their quality of life. Mental Health America envisions a just, humane, and healthy society in which all people are accorded respect, dignity, and the opportunity to achieve their full potential free from stigma and prejudice. Committed to promoting good mental health, MHA seeks to help individuals experiencing a mental illness and actively advocates services and treatment for everyone's mental health needs.

Underage drinking can cause a multitude of problems within the community, making it crucial for community-and faith-based organizations to take action to prevent children from starting to drink alcohol.
Strategic Prevention Framework - State Incentive Grant (SPF-SIG)
The Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant (SPF SIG) is a three year cooperative agreement from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (SAMHSA/CSAP) awarded to the Office of the Governor to reduce substance use and abuse across the lifespan of Indiana citizens.
